Good inclusive practices guide in video-conferences and video-panel
A guide produced by the Women and Physics Commission of the Société Française de Physique, for use by organizers of videoconferences.
The health crisis that hit the world in 2020 has forced a profound transformation in communication methods. Videoconferencing has become an everyday tool, and it’s time to question our practices.
While the format of videoconferencing is different from that of traditional conferences, gender bias is also present, but expressed differently. This is why the Women and Physics Commission felt it would be useful to combine the parity charter for scientific conferences with a specific practical guide.
The aim of this guide is to raise awareness of certain biases and to suggest
solutions to help practices evolve before they become habits.
The guide also applies to video juries.
