Exhibition « Women pioneers in physics »

From all continents and eras, twenty women physicists have made major contributions to our understanding of the world. Some have received the highest honors, including the Nobel Prize in Physics. Others have long remained in the shadows despite their talent.
They all share a common strength: a passion for science, a commitment to society and a desire to pass on their knowledge. Their inspiring careers embody perseverance, curiosity and rigor, but also the courage to break down barriers.
Illustrated with talent by Eva Caramelli, the exhibition showcases their faces through colorful, feminine and vibrant portraits. Each work pays tribute to the identity of these women, using the colors of the flag of their country of origin.
This exhibition, curated by the French Physical Society for the special occasion of the International Physics Olympiad – France 2025, aims to inspire all audiences – and in particular girls from all over the world – to dare, to dream, and to follow the path of science.
The French Physical Society is making it freely available to everyone: feel free to print and share it as widely as possible.
